C-Leg
One very popular artificial limb is known as the C-Leg microprocessor-controlled knee which was introduced to the world in 1997. The C-Leg is the most clinically evaluated and studied prosthetic knee in history, with over 40,000 people helping to improve the C-Leg technology. This product can help consumers who have a dysfunctional knee that prevents their whole leg from functioning correctly. The market is high for this prosthetic limb because of its high benefits. This prosthetic can help a patient in many ways such as increasing the ability to easily manage their prosthetic C-Leg, increasing functions, eliminating fixed service intervals and jettisoning the need for a special pylon. The Ottobock company funded the research that led to the development of this successful limb.

Re-flex
The Re-flex prosthetic shin foot assembly has helped many people live a normal lifestyle. It is made from high strength carbon fibre composite materials which includes a spring loaded shock absorber and flat springs in the foot. This helps move the leg forward during walking, activities and sports. The re-flex is a very useful biotech product due to how many lives it changes. With this product many people are able to participate in sports and live their life normally. It reduces stress on one’s body and limits the forces in the knee and the ones in the socket as well. This is such a popular product because many people are in need of it. It is recommended for people who walk a lot and in an aggressive manner, participate in activities that require the foot to rotate and for people who experience pain in the knee, ankle, foot, hip or spine. The National science foundation helped fund this product which will be further researched by testing the product on someone who currently uses it.

I-Limb
Prosthetic and Robotic designer experts have been working really hard to improve the way prosthetics work. The new and advanced prosthetic hand called the i-limb quantum, which was invented by a company named “Touch Bionics” has been very essential to many who have unfortunately lost the ability to fully use their hands. With the help of technology the i-limb quantum allows people to transport heavy or light objects along with having a great grip on them. The i-limb uses signals from the remaining limb muscles and works together with the mind to read gestures being sent from the brain, converting them into nerve and muscle function. Doctors are now calling and referring to this procedure as “bionic reconstruction” and letting their patients know that they will need to attend training and regular therapy to be able to fully master their new prosthetic. Over the years the I-Limb Hand has been used for more than 1,200 patients.
